The event occurred after Noor Ahmad bowled a googly to Suryakumar Yadav in the match's 10.3 over. Surya Kumar Yadav came out of the crease and whacked the ball when it settled on a fuller length, around the middle and off stumps. Suryakumar attempted an inside-out shot over the covers after falling victim to the trap and clearing his front leg.
But the ball spun fast off the surface and he missed it entirely. MS Dhoni was fast behind the stumps after the ball past the bat.
Dhoni's quick reflexes allowed him to neatly grab the ball to his right and quickly whip the bails off. Even though Suryakumar tried to drag his feet back in, replays showed that he was out of his crease when the bails were removed. After leaving for 29 off 26 balls, Suryakumar Yadav ended a 51-run partnership.
