IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings batter Dewald Brevis is set to return to action for their upcoming Indian Premier League 2026 clash against Delhi Capitals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday, April 11, 2026, according to RevSportz report. Brevis has regained fitness after injury concerns and is expected to be available as Chennai look to register their first win of the season. The South African batter was retained ahead of IPL 2026 after an impressive stint last year, where he scored 225 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 180, including two half-centuries.

Meanwhile, former captain MS Dhoni is also nearing full fitness following a calf strain that has ruled him out of the opening matches. Dhoni recently returned to the nets and batted without significant discomfort. However, he did not travel with the squad for away fixtures against Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru earlier this week.

Dhoni has already undergone one fitness test and is expected to have another evaluation soon. He could make his return when Chennai face Kolkata Knight Riders on April 14.

In Dhoni’s absence, Sanju Samson has handled wicketkeeping duties, while Kartik Sharma has been part of the playing XI in all three matches so far. Chennai have struggled without Dhoni’s on-field leadership and composure.

The five-time champions have endured a difficult start to their campaign, losing all three of their matches. Their most recent defeat came against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who posted 250 for 3 en route to a 43-run victory at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Chennai had earlier suffered losses against Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals.
