IPL 2026, MI vs GT Today Match: Mumbai Indians continue to be without senior opener Rohit Sharma for Match 30 of the Indian Premier League 2026 against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Monday, April 20, 2026. Rohit had picked up the injury during MI’s clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 12. He was forced to retire hurt after scoring 19 runs, visibly struggling with discomfort in his right hamstring. He subsequently missed the game against Punjab Kings as well.
The veteran batter, who had shown positive signs in training earlier this week, has not been included in the playing XI as MI continue to take a cautious approach regarding his recovery. The exact timeline for his return remains unclear. However, it is understood that Rohit is yet to regain full match fitness after recovering from a hamstring injury sustained earlier in the tournament.
MI bowling coach Paras Mhambrey confirmed ahead of the game that both Rohit and all-rounder Mitchell Santner were fit and training well. However, the team management has opted for a cautious approach, delaying Rohit’s return to full match action. “Both are fit… if you just look at Rohit’s batting in the nets. So yeah, he is working on it. Santner is fit as well,” Mhambrey said in the pre-match press conference.
Toss Update
