IPL 2026, KKR vs PBKS Match: Shreyas Iyer’s sister Shresta drew attention on social media after posting a light-hearted dig at Kolkata Knight Riders following their rain-affected Indian Premier League 2026 match against Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens.

The match on Monday was abandoned after just 3.4 overs due to persistent rain and a wet outfield, forcing both teams to share a point each. It marked the first washout of the IPL 2026 season.

Soon after the game was called off, Shresta posted an Instagram reel that quickly went viral. In the clip, she joked in Punjabi, saying, “Saade Punjabiyan da dil vadda hunda hai, lo de ditta ek point,” implying Punjab had generously “given” a point.

The post was widely interpreted as a playful jab at Kolkata, especially given Iyer’s past association with the franchise, having led them to the IPL title in 2024 before moving on.

On the field, Punjab made an early impact after Kolkata captain Ajinkya Rahane opted to bat first. Bowler Xavier Bartlett struck twice in the second over, dismissing Finn Allen and Cameron Green to leave Kolkata at 25 for 2 when rain halted play.

Rahane was unbeaten on 8, while Angkrish Raghuvanshi was on 7 at the interruption.

The shared point helped Kolkata open their account after two losses, though they are still without a win this season. Punjab Kings moved to the top of the table with five points from three matches.

Kolkata will next face Lucknow Super Giants on April 9, while Punjab Kings are set to play Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 11.
