Shami, who was traded from Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the season, struck immediately as Rahul attempted an aerial shot but was caught by Mohsin Khan, departing for a golden duck.

Rahul, DC’s leading run-scorer in IPL 2025, opened the innings in the 142-run chase but failed to get off the mark in the season opener.

Earlier, DC bowlers produced a disciplined performance to bowl out LSG for 141 in 18.4 overs. Pacers Lungi Ngidi and T Natarajan picked up three wickets each, while spinner Kuldeep Yadav claimed two.
