IPL 2026, CSK vs RR: Devon Conway expressed disappointment after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered a heavy defeat to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Monday, March 30, 2026. Conway, who is currently featuring in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), said he found it difficult to watch his former team struggle but hinted at a strong comeback when the two sides meet again in Chennai.

“Hard to sit this one out… Watching CSK lose to Rajasthan Royals hurts. Right now I’m locked in with PSL duties, but revenge at Chepauk will always be on my mind,” Conway wrote on social media platform X.

CSK, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, endured a difficult outing after being put in to bat. The five-time champions collapsed to 94 for nine before Jamie Overton scored 43 to help the team post 127. In reply, Rajasthan chased down the target comfortably with eight wickets in hand. Vaibhav Suryavanshi led the charge with a quickfire 52, while Yashasvi Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 38 to guide the team home.

The result marked another setback for CSK, who had finished at the bottom of the standings in the previous season and were looking to begin their 2026 campaign on a positive note.

Conway, who played a key role in CSK’s title-winning campaign in 2023, was not retained ahead of the current season and is representing Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League 2026.
