IPL 2026: Punjab Kings (PBKS) performed a pooja at the New International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. Head coach Ricky Ponting, spin bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule and wicketkeeping coach Brad Haddin were among those present as the team sought blessings for the upcoming campaign.
Punjab Kings, led by Shreyas Iyer, finished as runners-up last season after losing the final to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, captained by Rajat Patidar, by six runs.
In that final, Virat Kohli scored 43 as Bengaluru posted 190. Punjab fell short while chasing 191 despite a 61-run innings off 30 balls by Shashank Singh.
Punjab will open their IPL 2026 campaign at home against Gujarat Titans on March 31.
