IPL 2026, RR vs LSG Match Result: Rajasthan Royals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 40 runs in an Indian Premier League 2026 match on Wednesday, overcoming a strong bowling performance from the hosts led by Mohammed Shami. Chasing 160, Lucknow Super Giants were bowled out for 119 in 18 overs after a top-order collapse derailed their innings. Captain Rishabh Pant fell early, playing an ill-timed sweep, as the hosts slipped from a promising position.

Mitchell Marsh top-scored with 55 off 41 balls, but lacked support as wickets fell regularly. Nicholas Pooran and others failed to convert starts, while the lower order struggled to keep up with the required rate.

Earlier, Rajasthan Royals posted 159 for 6 after being put in to bat. Ravindra Jadeja anchored the innings with an unbeaten 43 off 29 balls and later contributed with the ball, playing a key role in the win.

Lucknow’s bowlers had reduced Rajasthan to a precarious position with disciplined spells. Shami (2 for 30) struck twice in succession to remove Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel, while Mohsin Khan (2 for 17) and Prince Yadav (2 for 29) maintained pressure through the middle overs.

However, a late partnership between Jadeja and Shubham Dubey helped Rajasthan push their total to a competitive score.

Rajasthan’s bowlers then took control of the chase. Jofra Archer (3 for 20) and Nandre Burger (2 for 27) led the attack, striking at regular intervals to keep Lucknow under pressure.

The victory lifted Rajasthan Royals to second place in the standings with 10 points from seven matches, while Lucknow Super Giants slipped further after their fifth loss of the season.
