IPL 2026, GT vs LSG Today Match: Shubman Gill reached a major milestone during the IPL 2026 clash between Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday, becoming the second fastest Indian to score 4000 runs in the Indian Premier League.

Gill achieved the landmark in his 118th innings, going past Virat Kohli, who had taken 128 innings to reach the milestone. KL Rahul continues to hold the record among Indians, having completed 4000 IPL runs in just 105 innings.

In the overall list, Gill ranks fifth among the quickest to the milestone. Chris Gayle, David Warner, and Jos Buttler are ahead of him, while Rahul leads the chart.

The 26-year-old also became the youngest player in IPL history to cross the 4000-run mark.

He began his IPL career with Kolkata Knight Riders, where he played from 2018 to 2021 and scored more than 1400 runs across four seasons. He was later picked up by Gujarat Titans ahead of their debut season in 2022 and has since emerged as one of the franchise’s key performers.

His standout season came in 2023, when he scored 890 runs in 17 matches, establishing himself as one of the premier batters in the competition. He followed it up with another strong campaign last season, finishing among the top run-scorers for his team.

  • KL Rahul – 105 innings
  • Shubman Gill – 118 innings
