IPL 2026, RCB vs MI Match: A light-hearted exchange between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma became one of the standout moments during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Mumbai Indians clash in the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, April 12, 2026.  A viral video circulating on social media shows Rohit, the former MI captain, playfully shaping to throw the ball at the stumps, while Kohli—well inside his crease—mock-reacts by pretending to scramble back. The brief, humorous interaction quickly spread across social media, offering fans a rare glimpse of camaraderie between two of India’s modern-day greats.

On the field, RCB delivered a commanding performance to defeat MI by 18 runs in a high-scoring encounter.

Batting first, RCB piled up an imposing 240 for 4, powered by half-centuries from Kohli, Phil Salt and captain Rajat Patidar. Salt smashed 78 off 36 balls, while Kohli contributed a composed 50 off 38 deliveries as the duo stitched a 120-run opening partnership. After their departure, Patidar maintained the momentum with a rapid 53 off just 20 balls, while Tim David provided the finishing touch with an unbeaten 35 to push RCB to one of the highest totals of the season.

Chasing 241, Mumbai Indians finished at 222 for 5 despite a late surge from Sherfane Rutherford, who remained unbeaten on 71 off 31 balls. However, the target proved out of reach after RCB spinner Suyash Sharma struck twice in the eighth over to dent the hosts’ momentum.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma retired hurt on 19 due to a suspected hamstring issue, while Ryan Rickelton scored 37. Suryakumar Yadav (33) and captain Hardik Pandya (40) made useful contributions but failed to take the side home.
