The fixture is the second in a row to be affected by weather after the clash between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings in Kolkata was washed out on Monday.

Despite steady drizzle in Guwahati, a complete washout remains unlikely for now. However, delays have increased the chances of a shortened contest.

As per IPL playing conditions, a match scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. IST is required to finish by 10:50 p.m. IST. An additional 60 minutes of extra time is available to accommodate interruptions.

This means the cut-off time to begin a five-over-per-side match is approximately 11:50 p.m. IST. If play cannot start by then, the match will be abandoned.

Officials are continuing to monitor the weather, with hopes that conditions will improve later in the evening to allow at least a reduced game.
