The 21-year-old right-arm fast bowler Sakib Hussain, who was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 30 lakh at the auction, made an instant impact by dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal in his very first over. He later removed Donovan Ferreira and picked up two more wickets, dismissing Jofra Archer and Ravi Bishnoi, finishing with outstanding figures of 4 for 24.

Hussain was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 30 lakh at the IPL auction. He was previously picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the 2024 season but did not feature in any matches.
Who is Sakib Hussain?
Sakib represents Bihar in domestic cricket and made his T20 debut during the 2022-23 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He made an early impression, registering figures of 4 for 20 in just his second match at the age of 17.
He further strengthened his credentials in red-ball cricket, claiming his maiden five-wicket haul in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy, where he returned figures of 6 for 41 against Arunachal Pradesh.
After spending a season on the sidelines with Kolkata Knight Riders, Sakib now gets his opportunity to showcase his skills at the highest level of franchise cricket.
