In his absence, Ishan Kishan has been leading Sunrisers Hyderabad, but the team has struggled with bowling consistency without their premier pacer.

Cummins had initially joined the SRH camp but later returned to Australia for further medical assessment, according to the reports, Cricket Australia is expected to conduct a final evaluation, after which he would require a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to participate in the remainder of the IPL season.

While there is no official confirmation on his return date, reports suggest he could rejoin the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad after April 17, subject to clearance.

Cummins played an important role for Hyderabad last season, claiming 16 wickets with an economy rate of 9.06, and his absence leaves a significant gap in both leadership and bowling strength.

Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer has won the toss and has decided to field first.
