IPL 2026, KKR vs PBKS Today Match: Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Varun Chakaravarthy has been ruled out of their Indian Premier League 2026 match against Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Monday after sustaining an injury in the previous game, captain Ajinkya Rahane confirmed at the toss. Fast bowler Navdeep Saini replaced Chakaravarthy in the playing XI.

“Two changes, forced changes. Varun Chakaravarthy unfortunately got injured taking a catch in the last game and Sunil Narine is sick. Powell and Saini are in,” Rahane said after opting to bat.

Chakaravarthy picked up the injury while attempting a catch during Kolkata’s 65-run defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad last week. The extent of the injury has not been disclosed.

The setback comes at a time when Chakaravarthy has struggled for form, going wicketless in the first two matches of the season. He conceded heavily, including a 25-run over against Sunrisers Hyderabad, and has yet to make a significant impact in IPL 2026.

Kolkata are also without all-rounder Sunil Narine, who missed the match due to illness.
