IPL 2026, RCB vs CSK Today Match: Dewald Brevis remains doubtful for Chennai Super Kings ahead of its Indian Premier League 2026 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, April 5, 2026. The South African batter is recovering from a side injury sustained during training and has already missed Chennai’s opening matches against Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings.

CSK head coach Stephen Fleming had earlier confirmed that Brevis was undergoing rehabilitation and is expected to return soon, though no specific timeline was provided.

“Brevis is out. He had a side injury during training. He is rehabbing. Hopefully, he won’t be out for too long,” Fleming said.

Brevis, who joined CSK as an injury replacement last season, impressed with 225 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 180 and was subsequently retained by the franchise.

While the batter was seen training ahead of the previous game against Punjab Kings, the team management has not issued an official update on his match readiness for the clash against Bengaluru.

Chennai, which is seeking its first win after consecutive defeats, will hope for clarity on Brevis’ availability as it looks to strengthen its batting lineup against the defending champions.
