IPL 2026, RR vs DC Today Match: Delhi Capitals fast bowler Mitchell Starc is available for selection for match 43 of the Indian Premier League 2026 against Rajasthan Royals at
Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Friday, May 1, 2026, but his inclusion in the playing XI will be decided closer to the match. DC bowling coach Munaf Patel confirmed that the left-arm pacer has recovered from injury and is fit to play. However, he did not guarantee Starc’s place in the final XI.
“He is available from tomorrow. Our best bowler will definitely play, but the final decision will be taken tomorrow. His coming back definitely helps,” Munaf said on the eve of the match.
Starc had been sidelined with shoulder and elbow issues and only recently rejoined the squad. His return is expected to strengthen a bowling unit that has struggled for consistency this season.
Delhi Capitals are currently in a tight position on the points table and need a strong performance to stay in contention for the playoffs. The team is coming off a difficult run, including a heavy defeat in their previous match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Munaf said the side is not under pressure despite recent setbacks and backed the team’s approach heading into a crucial phase of the tournament. He also indicated that there are unlikely to be major changes to the lineup.
If selected, Starc is expected to play a key role, particularly in the powerplay, as DC look to improve their bowling performance against an in-form Rajasthan side.
The final decision on Starc’s inclusion will be known at the toss.
