IPL 2026, RCB vs DC Today Match: Royal Challengers Bengaluru opener Phil Salt will not feature in Match 39 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Monday, April 27, 2026, due to injury. The England wicketkeeper-batter, who has been opening the innings alongside Virat Kohli this season, is still recovering after sustaining an injury during training sessions ahead of RCB’s previous game against Gujarat Titans.
RCB batting coach and mentor Dinesh Karthik confirmed Salt’s absence during the pre-match press conference. “Salt is injured for the moment and will miss the game vs DC,” Karthik said.
Salt has been an important contributor at the top of the order, scoring 202 runs in six matches, including two half-centuries with a highest score of 78. His aggressive starts alongside Kohli have provided early momentum for the team in several matches this season.
In his absence, Jacob Bethell is expected to continue opening the batting with Kohli. Bethell featured in the previous match but managed just 14 runs.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru will hope for a swift recovery for Salt, but he is unlikely to return until he regains full fitness.
