IPL 2026, PBKS vs LSG Today Match: Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant is expected to play in today’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash against Punjab Kings after recovering from an elbow injury sustained in the previous match.

Pant had taken a blow to his elbow while facing Josh Hazlewood during LSG’s defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The wicketkeeper-batter briefly left the field and later returned to score just one run before being dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He did not keep wickets during the second innings, with Nicholas Pooran stepping in as stand-in captain.

Lucknow Super Giants bowling coach Bharat Arun confirmed ahead of the match that Pant is fit and available for selection. “He is perfectly alright, fit enough to play tomorrow,” Arun said. 

He also resumed training with the squad, indicating that there are no major concerns regarding his injury.

Pant’s return comes at a crucial time for Lucknow, who have managed two wins from five matches and are looking to regain momentum in the tournament. The left-hander has scored 104 runs so far this season at a strike rate of 122.35.

LSG will face a strong challenge against an unbeaten Punjab side led by Shreyas Iyer, who are coming off a comprehensive win over Mumbai Indians.

Pant is expected to lead the side as Lucknow aim to register an important win and improve their standing in the early phase of the season.
