IPL 2026: The Indian Premier League (IPL) continues to serve as a launchpad for emerging domestic cricketers, and the 2026 season is expected to spotlight a new generation of young talent aiming to make a mark on the big stage. Among the players to watch is Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, one of the youngest cricketers to feature in the league. The teenage batter gained attention last season with an aggressive approach, including a rapid century, and is expected to continue providing quick starts at the top of the order.

Ayush Mhatre, a Mumbai-based batter who captained India’s Under-19 side to World Cup success, has also shown promise. After a strong debut season with Chennai Super Kings, he is likely to play a bigger role at the top of the order.

Chennai Super Kings have further invested in youth by signing all-rounder Prashant Veer and wicketkeeper-batter Kartik Sharma for significant sums at the auction. Veer brings a combination of left-arm spin and power-hitting, while Sharma is regarded as a clean striker capable of accelerating in the middle overs. Fast bowler Ashok Sharma is set to strengthen Gujarat Titans’ pace attack after consistent performances in domestic cricket, where he showcased both pace and wicket-taking ability.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will look to Mangesh Yadav, a left-arm pacer and handy lower-order batter, to provide breakthroughs in crucial phases of the game. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals have added young opener Sahil Parakh, who has built a reputation at the Under-19 level for his aggressive approach and consistency.
