India National Cricket Team vs South Africa National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: Ishan Kishan smashed a 20-ball half-century as India dominated South Africa in their T20 World Cup warm-up match at DY Patil Stadium on Wednesday. The wicketkeeper-batter scored 53 runs, including seven sixes and two fours, before retiring out. Kishan opened the innings with Abhishek Sharma, replacing Sanju Samson, who struggled in India’s recent five-match T20I series against New Zealand.

Kishan got off to a flying start, clearing the ropes with two consecutive sixes off Lungi Ngidi and picking up quick runs through leg-side shots. He reached his fifty with a towering six over mid-on off Kwena Maphaka and retired immediately after. Tilak Varma came in at number three.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav confirmed the opening combination before the match, saying, “Definitely Ishan and Abhishek (Sharma).”

Kishan’s form comes after a strong T20I series against New Zealand, where he scored 215 runs in four innings, including a 103 off 43 balls in his maiden T20I century. The performance has pushed him up 32 places to 32nd in the latest ICC T20I batter rankings.

India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against the USA in Mumbai on Saturday, February 7.
