IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have appointed former England wicketkeeper James Foster as their fielding coach ahead of the Indian Premier League 2026 season. Foster will join the coaching staff led by head coach Stephen Fleming, who has been associated with the franchise for several years. The team’s support staff also includes former Australia batter Michael Hussey.
Foster represented England national cricket team in 23 international matches between 2001 and 2009 as a wicketkeeper-batter. Since retiring from professional cricket in 2018, he has built a strong reputation in franchise coaching roles around the world.
Earlier this year, Foster guided Desert Vipers to the title in the International League T20 as head coach. He has also served as an assistant coach for Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred.
The five-time IPL champions will begin their IPL 2026 campaign against Rajasthan Royals on March 30 in Guwahati. The team is also scheduled to face Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals in the opening phase of the tournament.
