India National Cricket Team vs England Cricket Team: Jos Buttler reached another milestone in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup during England’s semifinal clash against India national cricket team at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Buttler made his 43rd appearance in the T20 World Cup, the joint second-highest in the tournament’s history. Only Rohit Sharma has played more matches in the competition with 47 appearances. Buttler is now level with Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who featured in 43 matches between 2007 and 2024.

Buttler made his T20 World Cup debut in the 2012 edition and later captained England to the title in the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Over the years, he has been one of England’s most consistent performers in the shortest format. Australia’s David Warner is next on the list with 41 appearances, followed by England spinner Adil Rashid with 38 and Bangladesh’s Mahmudullah with 37.

In knockout matches, Buttler joined a group of legendary players who have featured seven times in the latter stages of the tournament, including Sri Lanka greats Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Lasith Malinga, as well as Angelo Mathews and Adil Rashid.
