Buttler made his 43rd appearance in the T20 World Cup, the joint second-highest in the tournament’s history. Only Rohit Sharma has played more matches in the competition with 47 appearances. Buttler is now level with Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who featured in 43 matches between 2007 and 2024.

Buttler made his T20 World Cup debut in the 2012 edition and later captained England to the title in the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Over the years, he has been one of England’s most consistent performers in the shortest format.
