Indian cricketer Rinku Singh’s father has passed away. He died at Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida. Rinku’s father, Khanchandra Singh, had been battling stage-4 liver cancer. His condition had worsened over the past few days, leading to his hospitalisation. After learning of his father’s deteriorating health, Rinku Singh left Team India amid onging ICC T20 World Cup 2026 and returned home. Khanchandra Singh had been on ventilator support for several days and was receiving renal replacement therapy.
Rinku Singh, considered one of India’s key players for the T20 World Cup, returned home two days ago. On Tuesday, Team India held a practice session at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, but Rinku was unable to attend the session. Other players were seen practising. Soon after, reports emerged that his father was critically ill and fighting for his life, prompting Rinku’s immediate return. Rinku Singh is from Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh.

This must be an especially difficult time for Rinku and his family, even as he remains committed to his responsibilities during the T20 World Cup. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with him and his loved ones. May Waheguru grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength and courage to the bereaved family," Harbhajan Singh wrote on X.
