Former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni was seen smashing big shots in the nets as he prepares for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), set to begin on March 22. The season opener will feature defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

The 43-year-old has remained a key part of CSK despite retiring from international cricket in 2020. He stepped down as CSK’s captain before the IPL 2024 season, handing over the leadership to Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, he was retained by the franchise for ₹4 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction under the 'uncapped player' category.

Dhoni, who led CSK to five IPL titles, is expected to make a slight change in his batting approach this season. According to a report media report, he may use lighter bats in IPL 2025. Previously, he used bats weighing between 1250 to 1300 grams but is now expected to switch to ones weighing around 1230 grams.

However, Dhoni has once again fueled speculation about his future in the IPL after arriving in Chennai for pre-season training. Dhoni was spotted at the airport wearing a t-shirt featuring what appeared to be a Morse code message, which fans believe translates to "ONE LAST TIME." The message has triggered widespread speculation that IPL 2025 could be Dhoni’s final season.
