Scotland National Cricket Team vs Nepal National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: Kushal Bhurtel’s quick start and Dipendra Singh Airee’s unbeaten fifty helped Nepal end a 12-year winless streak in the T20 World Cup with a seven-wicket victory over Scotland in a Group C match at Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Chasing 171, Nepal reached the target in 19.2 overs, with Airee scoring 50 not out off 23 balls, including three sixes and four fours. Bhurtel contributed 43 runs in an aggressive start, while Gulsan Jha remained unbeaten on 24 as the pair added a crucial 73-run stand for the fourth wicket.
Bhurtel had an early reprieve when Brad Currie dropped a return catch, and he immediately capitalised with a six over long-on in the second over. Aasif Sheikh also provided impetus, hitting a six over fine leg, followed by Bhurtel’s two sixes and a four off Mark Watt.
Scottish spinners, however, slowed Nepal’s momentum, leading to wickets of Bhurtel, Aasif, and skipper Rohit Paudel (16). Airee’s late assault, including two on-side sixes and a four off Michael Leask, helped Nepal secure the win with four balls to spare.
Earlier, Michael Jones’ 71 off 45 balls anchored Scotland’s total of 170 for 7. Jones hit eight fours and three sixes, sharing an 80-run opening partnership with George Munsey, who managed 27 runs off 29 balls. Sompal Kami (3/25) ended Jones’ innings with a brilliant one-handed catch off McMullen.
Both teams had already been eliminated from Super Eight contention, with West Indies and England advancing from the group. The win gave Nepal a memorable finish in front of over 19,000 fans, their first T20 World Cup victory since 2014.
