Pakistan National Cricket Team vs Bangladesh National Cricket Team Match: Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz won the toss and chose to field against Pakistan in the first One-Day International of the three-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday, March  11, 2026.

Miraz said the decision was influenced by expected conditions later in the day and the strength of Bangladesh’s bowling attack. He added that early wickets in the first 10 overs could give the hosts an advantage before chasing under favorable conditions.

Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi said he would have preferred to bat first but backed his young side to handle the challenge. Afridi said the team wants to allow its debutants to play freely without pressure while targeting a competitive total of around 270 to 280 runs.

Pakistan handed opportunities to several young players as part of a revamped lineup, while Bangladesh opted for a balanced combination featuring three fast bowlers, two spinners and six batting options.
