India National Cricket Team vs Pakistan National Cricket Team Match: Pakistan’s route to the Super 8 stage at the 2026 T20 World Cup has become difficult after a heavy loss to India at the R Premadasa Stadium on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Chasing 176, Pakistan were bowled out for 114 and slipped to third place in Group A. The 61-run defeat not only cost them two points but also dented their net run-rate, which could play a key role in the final standings.

Here is a look at what Pakistan need to do to qualify:

Win against Namibia is a must

Pakistan have four points from three matches, with two wins and one loss. Their final group game is against Namibia on February 18. A win will take them to six points and should be enough to secure a Super 8 berth.

Namibia are already out of contention after losing all three of their matches, but Pakistan cannot afford any slip-up.

Net run-rate factor

If Pakistan lose to Namibia, they will remain on four points. In that case, qualification will depend on other results and net run-rate.

The United States also have four points and currently hold an advantage on net run-rate. A defeat for Pakistan could allow the United States to move ahead and claim the second qualifying spot from the group.

Other scenarios

The Netherlands still have a mathematical chance of reaching four points, but they will face India in their last group match. Any upset there could complicate the table further.

At present, India have already qualified from Group A with three wins in three matches. Pakistan’s final league fixture has effectively become a must-win contest to keep their Super 8 hopes alive.
