A hailstorm forced a halt to play Wednesday in a critical Indian Premier League match between the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at HPCA Stadium.

Punjab Kings captain Sam Curran elected to field first. They dismissed RCB openers Faf du Plessis (9) and Will Jacks (12) cheaply. However, Virat Kohli (43 not out off 23 balls) and Rajat Patidar (55 off 23 balls) built a crucial 76-run partnership before Patidar was caught by Jonny Bairstow off Sam Curran's bowling on the last ball of the 10th over. Rain arrived immediately after Patidar's dismissal. Kohli was at the crease, unbeaten on 43, with new batsman Cameron Green yet to score.

Fortunately, after assessing the situation, official broadcasters confirmed the match will resume at 8:55 p.m. IST, providing a sigh of relief for cricket fans who were eagerly awaiting an update on the weather conditions in Dharamsala.
