Pakistan Super League has been in the headlines since the start of its 2026 edition of the domestic tournament led by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). This time, an unusual scene was created by the most controversial Pakistani baller during a match between Quetta Gladiators and Pindiz.

The incident occurred in the middle at National Stadium in Karachi when Daryl Mitchell briefly refused to face spinner Usman Tariq, when Tariq was balling extremely slow, confusing the New Zealand cricketer with his balling action.

Usman Tariq, who debuted in the Pakistan National Cricket team in a recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2026, was in talks during the tournament for his balling action, which involves a brief pause before delivering the ball.

A video of Mitchell on the strike and Tariq is going viral in India, where, during a match between Quetta Gladiators and Pindiz on Friday, a New Zealand batter was seen in frustration. In a viral video, Mitchell appeared uncomfortable with the disruption to his pause and moved away from the crease multiple times, signalling that he was not ready to face the delivery.

His actions led to a halt in play, forcing the Empire to intervene and calm the situation. Even the commentators couldn't stop talking about the unusual scene from PSL.

Commentator Ramiz Raja can be heard saying, “Can he withdraw from his action? I think the umpires have to sort this out. And I think he’s got to be ready. Daryl Mitchell has got to be better than that."
