BCCI Awards: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will honour former India captain Rahul Dravid and current India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill at the annual Naman Awards to be held in the national capital on Sunday, March 15, 2026. According to the reports, Dravid will receive the prestigious Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Indian cricket as both a player and a coach.
One of the most respected figures in world cricket, Dravid known for his patience and solid technique, He earned the nickname “The Wall” for his ability to anchor the innings and rescue the team in difficult situations. Dravid scored more than 10,000 runs in One-Day Internationals and played several memorable innings in Test cricket that helped India become a competitive side overseas.
After retiring from international cricket in 2012, Dravid moved into commentary before beginning a successful coaching career. He guided India’s Under-19 team to victory in the 2018 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup and later became head coach of the senior men’s team in 2021. Under his leadership, India reached the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup final and won the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Meanwhile, Gill will be honoured with the BCCI Cricketer of the Year award after a remarkable year with the bat. The right-handed batter finished 2025 as the highest run-scorer in international cricket with 1,764 runs at an average of 49.00. He also enjoyed a standout Test series against England, scoring 754 runs in five matches — the most runs by an Indian captain in a single Test series.
According to the media report, Mumbai’s Ayush Mhatre will receive the Lala Amarnath Award for the best all-round performance in domestic limited-overs cricket. Mhatre recently captained India’s Under-19 team to the ICC Under-19 World Cup title held in Zimbabwe and Namibia. The report also said the BCCI is considering presenting former India women’s captain Mithali Raj with a lifetime honour in recognition of her contribution to women’s cricket. In addition, the Mumbai Cricket Association will be recognised as the best cricket association in domestic cricket.
