India national cricket team wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant recently trained under former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh at the Cricket Club of India as he prepares for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League in 2026. The Lucknow Super Giants captain reportedly spent three to four days working with Yuvraj during training sessions in Mumbai before joining his franchise’s camp in Chennai. The 27-year-old shared a video from the session on Instagram with the caption: “Learning never stops. #RP17.” The clip shows the left-handed batter facing deliveries in the nets while Yuvraj watches closely and offers guidance.

The training comes as Pant looks to rediscover his form in white-ball cricket following a modest campaign in the 2025 IPL season. He scored 269 runs in 14 matches with a highest score of 118 not out and a strike rate of 133.16. It was his lowest run tally in the tournament since his debut season in 2016.

Lucknow Super Giants finished seventh in the standings last season, with Pant struggling to produce consistent performances with the bat.

Pant also missed out on selection in India’s squad that won the ICC Men's T20 World Cup earlier this year and is currently considered the second-choice wicketkeeper in One-Day Internationals behind KL Rahul.

Yuvraj, a key member of India’s 2011 World Cup-winning side, has been mentoring several young cricketers in recent years. Players such as Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh have trained under his guidance and gone on to enjoy success in T20 cricket.

Known for his aggressive batting in Test cricket, Pant will be hoping that Yuvraj’s mentorship helps him regain rhythm in the shorter formats ahead of the new IPL season.
