India Women’s National Cricket Team vs South Africa Women’s National Cricket Team Match: South Africa Women captain Laura Wolvaardt won the toss and elected to bowl against India Women in the second T20I of the India Women tour of South Africa 2026 at Kingsmead, Durban, on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
Wolvaardt indicated that the pitch is expected to be on the slower side and preferred chasing conditions.
“Going to have a bowl. The wicket should be a little slower overall. Nice to know what to chase later on. Still four more games in the series, plenty of chances to test ourselves,” she said, confirming that South Africa are unchanged.
India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur said she would have preferred to bowl first as well, citing a good surface on offer, but added that batting first is not a bad option. India have made two changes to their playing XI, handing a debut to Anushka Sharma while Kranti Gaud also comes into the side.
“We were thinking to bowl first. It’s a good surface. Batting first is also not a bad option. Two changes: Anushka will play her first game and Kranti also comes in. We had good discussions. Batting-wise we were okay, but we didn’t execute our bowling plans,” Harmanpreet said at the toss.
South Africa lead the five-match series 1-0 after a six-wicket win in the opening game at the same venue. India will be looking to bounce back and level the series, while the hosts aim to build momentum.
