Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the wedding of his son, Arjun Tendulkar, with Saaniya Chandok. “We were honoured to invite Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji to Arjun and Saaniya’s wedding. Thank you, Modi ji, for your blessings and thoughtful advice for the young couple,” Sachin posted on social media.

Arjun Tendulkar, 26, is set to marry Saaniya Chandok on March 5 this year. The couple got engaged in August last year.

Chandok is the granddaughter of businessman Ravi Ghai. She is a designated partner and director at Mr Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP. The Ghai family has interests in the hospitality and food sectors, including ownership of the InterContinental hotel and ice cream brand Brooklyn Creamery.

Arjun, a left-arm pacer, began his Indian Premier League (IPL) career with Mumbai Indians after being picked at his base price of Rs 20 lakh in 2021. He missed that season due to injury. The franchise bought him again for Rs 30 lakh in the 2022 auction, and he made his IPL debut in 2023 against Kolkata Knight Riders.

He has played five IPL matches so far and taken three wickets. In the following season, he featured in one match without taking a wicket.

In domestic cricket, Arjun represents Goa. He has taken 48 wickets in 22 first-class matches and scored 620 runs. In List A cricket, he has 25 wickets and 155 runs in 23 matches.

Ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, Arjun was traded to Lucknow Super Giants from Mumbai Indians. The move also saw senior India pacer Mohammed Shami join Lucknow as the franchise looks to strengthen its bowling attack.
