The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the Team of the Tournament for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, featuring four players from champion India. The team was selected by a panel that included former West Indies fast bowler Ian Bishop, former England captain Eoin Morgan, commentator Natalie Germanos, ICC’s Gaurav Saxena and Sri Lankan journalist Rex Clementine.

Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan and India’s Sanju Samson were named as the opening pair after standout performances during the month-long tournament.

Farhan finished as the leading run-scorer with a record 383 runs at a strike rate of 160.25, becoming the first batter to score multiple centuries in a single T20 World Cup.

Samson, who was named the Player of the Tournament, scored 321 runs in five matches at an average of 80.25. The wicketkeeper-batter also set a new record for the most runs by an Indian in a single T20 World Cup edition.

India’s Ishan Kishan was selected at No. 3 after impressing with his aggressive batting, including three half-centuries during the tournament. South Africa captain Aiden Markram was chosen at No. 4 and named captain of the team. Markram scored three half-centuries and led South Africa to an unbeaten run before the team was eliminated by New Zealand in the semifinals.

The all-rounders’ group includes India’s Hardik Pandya, England’s Will Jacks and West Indies’ Jason Holder.

Pandya scored 217 runs and claimed nine wickets, playing a crucial role in India’s title-winning campaign. Jacks enjoyed a breakthrough tournament, scoring 226 runs and taking nine wickets while earning four player-of-the-match awards. Holder also contributed with both bat and ball, taking 10 wickets and adding valuable runs in the lower order.

India’s Jasprit Bumrah spearheads the bowling attack after finishing as the joint-highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 14 wickets alongside teammate Varun Chakravarthy. Bumrah also produced a match-winning spell of 4 for 15 in the final.

South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi and Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani were selected as the other pace bowlers after impressive campaigns. Ngidi claimed 12 wickets at an average of 15.58, while Muzarabani took 13 wickets at 14.46.

England leg-spinner Adil Rashid was chosen as the specialist spinner after finishing with 13 wickets at an average of 19.23.

The ICC also named United States all-rounder Shadley van Schalkwyk as the 12th man.
