South AfricaWomen’s National Cricket Team vs Pakistan Women’s National Cricket Team Match: Pakistan batter Sidra Amin has been officially reprimanded for breaching Level 1 of the International Cricket Council’s Code of Conduct during the first One-Day International against South Africa women's national cricket team in Bloemfonteinon Sunday, February 22, 2026. Sidra was found to have violated Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures during an international match. One demerit point has been added to her disciplinary record. It is her second offence within a 24-month period, bringing her total to two demerit points.
The incident occurred in the 24th over of Pakistan’s innings when Sidra, after being dismissed, slammed her bat onto the ground before leaving the crease. She previously received a demerit point for a similar offense against India women's national cricket team on Oct. 5 during the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup.
Sidra accepted the charge and the sanction proposed by Shandrè Fritz of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees, eliminating the need for a formal hearing. The charge was levelled by on-field umpires Kerrin Klaaste and Nimali Perera, third umpire Lauren Agenbag and fourth umpire Stacy Lackay.
Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50% of a player’s match fee, along with one or two demerit points.
