Sri Lanka National Cricket Team vs Oman National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: Blistering fifties from Pavan Rathnayake and captain Dasun Shanaka, along with a solid half-century from Kusal Mendis, powered Sri Lanka to a 105-run victory over Oman in their ICC T20 World Cup Group B match on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Rathnayake scored 60 off 28 balls, Shanaka made 50 from 20 deliveries, and Mendis contributed 61 off 45 balls as Sri Lanka posted 225 for five, their second-highest T20 World Cup total and the highest score of this edition. Oman, after opting to bowl, struggled from the start and were restricted to 120 for nine.

Oman captain Jatinder Singh was dismissed by Dushmantha Chameera in the first over, while Aamir Kaleem and Hammad Mirza fell cheaply, leaving Oman at 36 for three in the power play. Chameera finished with two wickets for 19 runs, and spinner Maheesh Theekshana claimed 2 for 11 from his four overs.

Wasim Ali briefly revived the chase with 27 off 20 balls, striking consecutive sixes off Dushan Hemantha, but Oman collapsed to 91 for six in quick succession. Theekshana dismissed Ali, Kamil Mishara ran out Vinayak Shukla, and Jiten Ramanandi was stumped by Kusal Mendis for a golden duck. Mohammad Nadeem fought on with a 50 but could not prevent the defeat.

Rathnayake, recovering from a low score in the tournament opener, hit eight fours and a six to reach his maiden T20 World Cup fifty in 24 balls. He shared a 94-run partnership with Mendis, who struck seven fours in his innings, helping Sri Lanka maintain a high run rate through the middle overs.

Shanaka, who had struggled in the lead-up to the tournament, struck the fastest T20 World Cup fifty by a Sri Lankan, hitting four sixes and a boundary in a 19-ball blitz at the death. Kamindu Mendis finished unbeaten on 19 off seven balls, as Sri Lanka added 65 runs in the last four overs.

With this win, Sri Lanka tops Group B with two victories from as many matches, ahead of Australia and Zimbabwe, who have one win each.
