United Arab Emirates National Cricket Team vs South Africa National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: Dewald Brevis and Aiden Markram starred as South Africa cruised to a six-wicket victory over the United Arab Emirates in their final group match of the T20 World Cup on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Chasing 123, the Proteas wrapped up the target in 13.1 overs. Markram led the charge with a quick 28 off 11 balls, setting the stage for Brevis, who struck 36 off 25 deliveries. Ryan Rickleton added 30 off 16 balls, helping South Africa finish the match with ease.

Brevis impressed with a series of powerful shots, including a pull off a bouncer from left-arm seamer Muhammad Jawadullah that soared into the square leg stand, and a drive over extra cover off spinner Haider Ali that reached the Feroz Shah Kotla stands. He later dispatched a slower delivery from Mohammed Arfan into the cow corner.

Earlier, UAE posted 122 for six in 20 overs, with young Alishan Sharafu top-scoring with 45 off 38 balls, including five fours and a six. Sharafu benefited from two dropped catches, while Anrich Nortje, making his tournament debut, bowled tightly to finish with 2 for 28. Corbin Bosch supported with 3 for 12.

South Africa’s pace attack, led by Nortje and Bosch, exploited the overcast conditions and moisture in the pitch after captain Markram chose to bowl first. George Linde provided the first breakthrough, dismissing UAE skipper Muhammad Waseem (22 off 12 balls) lbw. The rest of the UAE batting struggled against consistent pace and bounce, with Sohaib Khan departing cheaply after failing to read Bosch’s delivery, caught by Quinton de Kock.

UAE managed just 10 boundaries in the innings, with Sharafu and Waseem accounting for nine of them. A light drizzle followed the conclusion of the match, forcing the ground staff to cover the pitch.

South Africa now turn their attention to a crucial Super Eights clash against India on Sunday in Ahmedabad.
