The 10th edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is set to begin today, February 7, with a star-studded opening ceremony at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Defending champions India will launch their campaign against the USA following the with opening ceremony of the month-long tournament co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has curated an opening ceremony that blends India’s rich musical heritage with modern pop culture. The opening ceremony of the T20 World Cup 2026 will be featured by Bollywood actor and dancer Nora Fatehi and popular rapper Badshah.

The programme will open with a unique "musical medley" featuring neo-classical sitar virtuoso Rishab Rikhiram Sharma and legendary percussionist Sivamani. Organisers have confirmed the ceremony will transform the stadium into an immersive stage, expected to be witnessed by a capacity crowd of 60,000 fans.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm IST on Saturday (February 7, 2026), one hour before the start of the India vs USA match, which will be the 3rd match of the day. The T20 World Cup Trophy will also unveiled, which is expected to be delivered via a "jetpack performer" and received by ICC Chairman Jay Shah and tournament ambassador Rohit Sharma.
