The Hundred Auction: The first ever auction for The Hundred was held at the iconic Piccadilly Lights in London on Thursday as franchises finalised their squads for the 2026 season. Several young uncapped English cricketers attracted strong bids during the auction of the 100-ball tournament. All rounder James Coles emerged as the most expensive signing of the auction after London Spirit secured him for £390000 (approximately Rs 4.81 crore). Coles drew intense interest from multiple teams before Spirit completed the deal. Last season Most Valuable Player Jordan Cox was another major signing after Welsh Fire picked him up for £300000 (around Rs 3.69 crore). Cox reward reflects his impressive performances in the previous season of the competition.

Among overseas stars South Africa power hitter David Miller became the first international player sold at the auction when Southern Brave signed him for £110000 (about  Rs 1.35 crore). South Africa T20 captain Aiden Markram also secured a big deal after Manchester Super Giants signed him for £200000 (approximately Rs 2.46 crore).
