UP Warriorz vs Mumbai Indians Cricket Match Scorecard: Warriorz secured a 22-run win over two-time champions Mumbai Indians in the 10th match of the Women’s Premier League on Saturday at the DY Patil Stadium. Chasing a target of 188, Mumbai Indians were restricted to 165 for 6 in 20 overs after a disciplined bowling effort from UP Warriorz. With the win, UP Warriorz registered their second victory in five matches, while Mumbai suffered their third defeat of the season.
Mumbai’s chase faltered early as they lost their top order cheaply. Hayley Matthews (13), Sajeevan Sajana (10), Nat Sciver-Brunt (15) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (18) were dismissed as Mumbai slumped to 69 for 5. Amelia Kerr remained unbeaten on 49 and Amanjot Kaur scored 41, but the required run rate proved too high.
UP Warriorz bowlers shared the wickets, with Shikha Pandey finishing with 2 for 30. Kranti Gaud, Sophie Ecclestone, Deepti Sharma and Chloe Tryon also chipped in with a wicket each.
Earlier, UP Warriorz posted 187 for 8 after being sent in to bat. They lost Kiran Navgire for a duck in the opening over, but captain Meg Lanning and Phoebe Litchfield steadied the innings with a 119-run stand. Lanning top-scored with 70 off 45 balls, while Litchfield made 61 off 37 deliveries.
Lanning’s knock marked her 11th fifty-plus score in WPL history, the most by any player. Amelia Kerr was the standout bowler for Mumbai, taking 3 for 28, including three wickets in the final over. The spell also made Kerr the first player to reach 50 wickets in the WPL.
Despite Kerr’s late burst, UP Warriorz defended their total to seal a comprehensive win.
