Delhi Capitals captain Meg Lanning won the toss and opted to bowl first against UP Warriorz in match six of the Women's Premier League 2025 at Kotambi Stadium on Wednesday.

Lanning said the decision was based on conditions at the venue, where bowling first has worked well. Delhi Capitals made one change to their lineup, bringing in Nikki Prasad for Radha Yadav. UP Warriorz made two changes, with Chinelle Henry and Poonam Khemnar replacing Alana King and Saima Thakor.

UP Warriorz began their campaign with a six-wicket loss to Gujarat Giants and are looking to bounce back. Captain Deepti Sharma was their top scorer in the previous match with 39 off 27 balls. However, the team managed only 143-9, which was not enough to challenge Gujarat. Sophie Ecclestone was their standout bowler with 2-16.

Delhi Capitals come into this match after a disappointing eight-wicket loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. In their previous game, they were bowled out for 141 in 19.3 overs, with Jemimah Rodrigues scoring 34 off 22 balls. RCB chased down the target comfortably.

The pitch report suggests a firm and hard surface, with totals around 200 unlikely. Experts say batters and bowlers will need to assess conditions carefully.
