IIT Wale Baba, also known as Abhay Singh, a former aerospace engineer from IIT Bombay, is facing backlash on social media after his prediction about the India-Pakistan match in the 2025 Champions Trophy turned out to be wrong on Sunday evening, February 23 after Men in Blue crushed hosts nation by 6 wickets and cruise to semi-finals of the mega tournament.

After a YouTuber, who had interviewed Abhay Singh ahead of the India vs Pakistan match, called him after his prediction that Rohit-led team would fail against Pakistan went wrong, IIT Baba said, "We play like this, we only play for ourselves." When the caller asked him what message he wanted to give to the viewers, he responded, "There is no such thing as prediction or reduction, use your brain."
Before the match, Singh, who left his high-paying job in Canada to pursue spirituality, claimed that India would not win against Pakistan in Dubai, despite the efforts of the team, including Virat Kohli. However, Kohli's brilliant century and India's emphatic victory have sparked a wave of trolling against Singh.

Meanwhile, Pakistan, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, managed to post 241 runs before being bowled out. Saud Shakeel (62), Mohammad Rizwan (46), and Khushdil Shah (38) were the top scorers. India’s bowlers delivered an impressive performance, with Kuldeep Yadav taking three wickets, Hardik Pandya two, and Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana, and Axar Patel picking up one each.
Chasing a target of 242, India comfortably reached the total with four wickets down. Virat Kohli's unbeaten 100 was the highlight of the innings, supported by Shreyas Iyer (56) and Shubman Gill (46). For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi took two wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Khushdil Shah claimed one each.
