Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored a ton in spending 55 balls on Friday, in the U19 World Cup 2026 final match against England at Harare Sports Club, Harare. His sensational innings gave the India U19 team a commanding target and put them on the strong side to win the final.
Sooryavanshi has become the youngest batsman in the world to score a half-century in the tournament's final. He made history by achieving this feat at the age of 14. At the time of writing this report, Vaibhav had scored 145 runs in 67 balls.
India won the toss and elected to bat first. India had a poor start, as opener Aaron George, who had scored a century of 115 against Afghanistan in the semi-final, was dismissed by Alex Green for 9 runs (11). India lost their first wicket at just 20 runs.
Sooryavanshi, along with Captain Ayush Mhatre, completely took control of the Indian innings. Vaibhav started the match aggressively from the start and put the English bowlers under immense pressure. The young English bowlers looked completely helpless in front of his innings. Ayush Mhatre was caught by Ben Mayes off Alex Green's ball on 53 off 51 balls.
