India National Cricket Team vs New Zealand National Cricket Team: Star India batter Virat Kohli congratulated the Indian cricket team after its emphatic victory over New Zealand in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final on Sunday, March 8, 2026. India defeated New Zealand national cricket team by 96 runs at Narendra Modi Stadium to lift the 2026 title.

After being put in to bat first, India national cricket team posted a massive 255 for 5 in its allotted 20 overs, powered by a blistering 89 off 46 balls from Sanju Samson. In response, New Zealand was bowled out for 159 in 19 overs as India’s bowlers produced a dominant performance. Jasprit Bumrah led the attack with figures of 4 for 15, while Axar Patel claimed 3 for 27.

Following India’s triumph in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup final, Kohli praised the team’s aggressive style of play throughout the competition.

“Champions. Phenomenal win for Team India in Ahmedabad,” Kohli wrote on X. “Absolutely no match for the explosive cricket played by us throughout the tournament.”

Kohli also commended the team’s resilience during challenging moments in the tournament.
