Moments later, Hasaranga struck again, dismissing Saim Ayub for just two runs and repeated Abrar's celebration. Cameras caught Abrar smiling from the dugout as Hasaranga playfully turned the tables.
Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by five wickets in match 15 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. This was Pakistan’s first win in the Super Fours and third overall in the tournament. The victory kept their hopes alive for final qualification after a heavy defeat against India in their previous match.
Mohammad Nawaz finished the chase in style, smashing Dushmantha Chameera for three sixes. Nawaz scored an unbeaten 38 runs off 24 balls, including three fours and three sixes, and was Pakistan’s top scorer in the match.
