Rajasthan Royals shared a promotional video on social media featuring teenage batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as the youngster prepares for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2026 season. In the video posted by the franchise, Sooryavanshi appears seated at a desk writing down his achievements and goals. The clip shows him crossing out the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup before noting the IPL trophy as his next target, mirroring the style of the film Dhurandhar, which the young cricketer has previously named as his favorite movie.
Sooryavanshi has already made headlines in international youth cricket. Earlier this year, he played a crucial role in India’s Under-19 World Cup triumph, smashing 175 runs from 80 balls in the final against England in Harare to secure a record-extending sixth title for the country.
The teenager also attracted attention during the 2025 IPL season when he became the youngest player to score a century in the tournament.
Speaking to Star Sports during the BCCI Naman Awards 2026, Sooryavanshi said his goal for the upcoming IPL season is to help Rajasthan Royals win the title.
“My aim this IPL season is to contribute to the team’s success and help the franchise lift the trophy,” he said.
Rajasthan Royals signed Sooryavanshi in 2024 for 1.1 crore rupees when he was just 13 years old, making him the youngest player ever to receive an IPL contract.
During the same awards ceremony, former RR captain Sanju Samson recalled the youngster’s fearless approach when he first met head coach Rahul Dravid before his IPL debut. Samson said the teenager confidently told the coaching staff that he planned to attack from the very first ball.
Sooryavanshi also revealed that one of his personal ambitions in the IPL is to surpass the 175-run mark he previously achieved in youth cricket.
