The West Indies women's national cricket team has been fined 10 percent of its match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate during the first Women’s ODI against Australia women's national cricket team at Warner Park in St. Kitts on Friday, March 27, 2026.

Reon King of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after the West Indies side was found to be two overs short of the required target, even after time allowances were taken into account.

According to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which governs minimum over-rate offences, players are fined five percent of their match fee for every over their side fails to complete in the allotted time.

West Indies captain Hayley Matthews admitted the offence and accepted the proposed sanction, eliminating the need for a formal hearing.

The charge was laid by on-field umpires Lauren Agenbag and Candace La Borde, along with third umpire Jacquline Williams and fourth umpire Maria Abbott.

On the field, Australia registered a dominant 103-run victory in the opening ODI, delivering a strong all-round performance.

Australia now hold an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series after securing a 90-run win in the second ODI on Sunday.
