Zimbabwe National Cricket Team vs West Indies Cricket Team Match Scorecard: Shimron Hetmyer and Rovman Powell powered West Indies to 254 for 6, the highest total of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, in their Super 8 Group 1 match against Zimbabwe national cricket team on Monday, February 23, 2026. After Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza chose to field at the Wankhede Stadium, West Indies produced a dominant batting display.
Hetmyer led the charge with 85 off 34 balls, hitting seven fours and seven sixes, and narrowly missed out on a century. The 29-year-old broke his own record for the fastest fifty by a West Indies batter in a T20 World Cup match. Earlier in the tournament, he had scored a 22-ball half-century against Scotland, surpassing the previous mark held by Chris Gayle. With his latest effort, Hetmyer now sits at the top of the list for the fastest fifties by a West Indies player in T20 World Cup history.
Powell added 59 off 35 balls, hitting four fours and four sixes, as West Indies built strong partnerships through the middle overs. The pair ensured the side crossed the 200-run mark with ease.
Late cameos from Sherfane Rutherford, who made 31 off 13 balls, and Romario Shepherd, who scored 21 off 10, pushed the total beyond 250. Jason Holder chipped in with 13.
Zimbabwe spinner Graeme Cremer provided some relief with a wicket in the middle overs, but the bowling attack struggled to contain the flow of runs.
West Indies’ 254-6 surpassed Ireland’s 235 against Oman earlier in the tournament to become the highest total of this edition. Overall, it ranks second in T20 World Cup history behind Sri Lanka’s 260 for 6 against Kenya in 2007.
