India National Cricket Team vs England Cricket Team Match Scorecard: A brilliant century from opener Yashasvi Jaiswal gave India the upper hand at the end of the second session on Day 3 of the fifth and final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 at the Kennington Oval on Saturday. At Tea, India reached 304 for six in their second innings, with Ravindra Jadeja and Dhruv Jurel unbeaten at the crease. The visitors now lead England by 281 runs.

Jaiswal struck a commanding 118 off 164 balls, continuing his rich vein of form from the overnight score of 51 not out. Resuming the session at 189 for four, India lost Shubman Gill early for 11. Gill was dismissed by Gus Atkinson, who remained England’s most effective bowler in the innings. Jaiswal brought up his century in the 51st over, reaching the milestone in 127 balls. He shared a 40-run stand with Karun Nair before the latter was dismissed for 17 by Atkinson. India touched the 250-run mark in the 58th over when Jaiswal hit a boundary. Jaiswal was eventually dismissed in the 65th over by Josh Tongue, ending a solid knock that helped India take firm control of the match. After his departure, wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel joined Jadeja at the crease.

The duo built an unbeaten 31-run partnership off 40 balls before the Tea break. Jurel was particularly aggressive, scoring 13 runs in one over bowled by Tongue to take India past the 300-run mark. In England's bowling attack, Atkinson picked up three wickets for 99 runs in 23 overs. Tongue took two for 100 in 26 overs, while Jamie Overton claimed one for 74.

Earlier in the day, India began from their overnight score of 75 for two. Jaiswal and night-watchman Akash Deep frustrated the English bowlers with a valuable 50-run partnership. Deep impressed with his maiden Test fifty before being dismissed.

This was the 18th century partnership in the series, the most in a Test series in this century. It surpassed the previous record of 17 during the 2003-04 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

England had earlier scored 247 in their first innings, taking a narrow 23-run lead over India’s 224. Fast bowlers Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj each took four wickets to trigger a collapse in England’s innings.
