Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal is set to leave Mumbai and represent Goa in domestic cricket from the 2025-26 season. The 23-year-old received a No Objection Certificate from the Mumbai Cricket Association in a swift process, according to Cricbuzz. The Goa Cricket Association has reportedly offered Jaiswal the captaincy, a role that was unavailable in Mumbai due to the presence of senior players. Ajinkya Rahane leads Mumbai in red-ball cricket, while Shreyas Iyer captains the white-ball team.
The development comes in the middle of the ongoing IPL season, where Jaiswal is representing Rajasthan Royals. However, he has struggled with form, scoring just 34 runs in three matches so far.

Jaiswal made his domestic debut for Mumbai in 2019 and has been a dominant force in Indian cricket. He averages 60.85 in First-Class cricket and 52.62 in List A matches. In 19 Test matches for India, he has amassed 1,798 runs at an average of 52.88, including four centuries and 10 half-centuries. He leaves Mumbai after scoring 863 runs in the Ranji Trophy at an average of 53.93. His tally includes four centuries and two fifties.
Goa recently earned promotion to the Elite Group of the Ranji Trophy after winning the Plate Group. He will join former Mumbai players Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad in the Goa squad. Last season, Jaiswal played only one Ranji Trophy match after the Board of Control for Cricket in India made it mandatory for national team players to participate in domestic cricket when not on international duty. He scored 4 and 26 against Jammu and Kashmir.
